(AllHipHop News) “Wait A Minute” was a breakout tune for Phresher. The track’s success led to established emcees like 50 Cent and Royce Da 5’9″ spitting their own bars over the beat, and the Brooklyn native’s 2016 single got an extra boost when Remy Ma jumped on the official remix.
Phresher and Remy were even joined by Young M.A in the video for their new version. According to the song’s creator, Bronx rapstress Cardi B was set to be part of the collaboration as well.
“She was supposed to do the ‘Wait A Minute (Remix)’ but due to a lot of bullsh-t we couldn’t release her part. Cardi B was actually in the video and everything,” Phresher revealed in an interview with AllHipHop. “Some people were hating on her situation. That’s before she really broke, but I seen it. I was going through it with a bigger artist about her being on it, so she didn’t make the video.”
Cardi went on to work with Phresher on his “Right Now” record. The two New York representatives are also set to join forces again on PH.
“For features, we got Jay Critch, Don Q, DreamDoll, Cardi B, and a couple more. We’re waiting for some things to come in. It’ll be wrapped up in the next few weeks. I’m very excited,” said Phresher about his forthcoming full length. “We got Philthy Rich from the Bay. We got Derez De’Shon from Atlanta. We’re working.”
Reazy Renegade, IllaDaProducer, and Go Grizzly contributed production to the project. Additionally, Phresher plans to drop two to three PH visuals each month.
